Now, the problem with politics, as seen from my ignorant point of view is the difference in attitude between conservatives and progressives. Note I'm not saying opinions, since, naturally, they would be different, but in fact the actual attitude towards life, politics and peers. Whereas the conservative tend to be uninformed, meddling and easily offended, the progressives (or liberals) have a slight tendency towards arrogance.
Ever found yourself wondering why american popular politics is such a joke? The answer may lie in this formula: Arrogance towards easily offended = anger. Anger = harsh tone. Harsh tone (when in politics) = silliness (or even pity). Anywho. The arrogance of the liberals is understandable. On a daily basis they have to argue with idiots that don't know what they're talking about, and defend themselves from armys of straw men. For example, some YEC (Young earth creationists), part of the tea party movement have argued against believing in Darwin, and saying that he possbily couldn't have done what he claimed. I.E. They believe that evolutionists treat Darwin like a holy man, that evolution is some kind of religion. Just about the dumbest thing....
Imagine having to argue with someone with beliefs such as those stated above. Someone constantly taking cheap-shots at you with outbursts like "well if that's your belief I feel sorry for you" or "I'm gonna pray for your soul". All the while knowing you're more well read, insightful and compassionate than the plastic-operated, hypocritical so called right wing christian conservative next to you. Of course you'd be arrogant. But the arrogance really isn't helping. I believe that, for the christian right to lose power, the liberals of america need to take the debate with as much patience as friggin Jesus himself. One argument at a time and never letting the frustration show.
In other words - drop the arrogance, the condescending tone, and maybe some of the heartland voters won't consider you elitist assholes.
Fucking useless rant
